EXPERIENCE

Freelance (Woodstock, Georgia)
Graphic Designer, January 2018–Present

  • Work directly with freelance clients on all aspects of a job from concept to completion, including but not limited to planning, strategy, presentation, design, print prep, budget, and results

Epsilon (West Chicago, Illinois)
Senior Art Director, January 2017–December 2017
Art Director, March 2014–December 2016

  • Promoted swiftly to design lead for large client, AT&T Digital Life, after beginning on the account as backup, but quickly making a large postive impact on the team and on the client
  • Conceptualized, designed, and launched numerous email, direct mail, and integrated marketing campaigns that successfully increased customer engagement and drove up sales profits for clients AT&T Digital Life and FedEx. One particular AT&T Digital Life campaign was so successful at driving customer response that their call center was unable to adequately handle the call volume
  • Focused heavily on A/B testing and strategy planning in order to drive sales, increase customer education, and reach more customers most effectively and efficiently. Worked closely with internal and external teams to develop marketing strategies and hit targeted goals

Nelnet (Lincoln, Nebraska)
Graphic Designer, June 2011–December 2013

  • Creative lead on multiple large accounts, such as Peterson’s Publishing, Nelnet Loan Servicing, Nelnet Business Solutions, Bright Directions 529 College Savings Plan, ResumeEdge, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. This included final decision making and creation of all brand elements—including but not limited to campaign concepts and development, logo design, website design, HTML emails, animated web banners, and all print collateral
  • Directed Nelnet’s conversion to eStatements campaign from concept to completion, which was a large corporate initiative that required correspondence for millions of Nelnet borrowers
  • Managed one direct report and assisted in his professional growth and development from entry-level graphic designer to self-reliant team member
  • Collaborated closely with the Peterson’s Publishing team and Hachette Book Group to overhaul their college test-prep and career book designs for increased sales and profitability

MaDesign, LLC. (Lincoln, Nebraska)
Co-owner/Graphic & Web Designer, March 2010–March 2014

  • Designed and launched a high-profile City Council campaign website, complete with CMS. The website was an undeniable success and the candidate was voted in to office
  • Worked directly with many local clients to achieve brand and graphic solutions that exceeded their needs—clients included Leirion for Lincoln, Rembolt Ludtke Law Firm, EC3H (Estate Creditor Claims Clearing House), La Petite Tarte, and Russell Video Productions
  • Cultivated client relationships and oversaw all projects from beginning to end, while working collaboratively with a web developer as part of a team environment

the minnow PROJECT (Lincoln, Nebraska)
Graphic Designer, July 2009–June 2011

  • Planned, analyzed, and created visual solutions for client needs as lead graphic designer on some of the largest accounts at the time, including Celerion (formerly MDS Pharma Services), Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center, and Clearstone Central Labs
  • Facilitated the rebranding of Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center, from initial pitch through first campaign completion. My logo design, and subsequent branding, was implemented to give the client a more contemporary, professional, and inviting look and feel
  • Routinely performed duties outside the normal scope of my job description, including copywriting, editing, proofing, researching vendors, attending press checks, and lending creative direction

Freelance Photographer (Lincoln, Nebraska)
April 2007–December 2011

  • Created artistic portraits for special occasions—weddings, engagements, and graduations
  • Utilized Aperture, Photoshop, and Camera Raw to edit and create beautiful, photographic products and lifelong memories for clients
